Welcome to Year 4

Welcome to Year 4!

So far this year we have been learning all about the Romans.

We had an amazing WOW day in which we made swords and shields like the ones  Roman soldiers used. We also made mosaics that looked like the ones in Roman houses.

In science in Term 1 we learnt about electricity. We now know how electricity moves around and we even worked out how to make a light bulb turn on by making our own circuits.

We also had an exciting trip to the theatre. We walked to the Hippodrome where we were lucky to be able to see the poet Valerie Bloom performing some of her poems to us. The whole class had a great time and really enjoyed joining in with the poems.

In Term 2 we had a great visit to Chedworth Roman villa where we learnt about Roman medicine, saw the remains of a Roman villa and interacted with Roman artefacts.

In science we learnt about how sound is made and how it travels. In DT we tasted different types of bread, learned how bread is made and then baked our own bread.

Thanks for reading.
